Happy Thanksgiving!

November 2013 Connection

This is the Newsletter we recently sent in printed form to our supporters and friends.

Meg's Message:

Only one month remains of 2013, and it's always one of my favorite months of the year. I love the beautiful fall season; the cozy, family-oriented Thanksgiving holiday; and the hope-filled Advent celebration that begins right after. We are looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas with our students over the next few weeks before they take a break to spend time with their families at the end of the semester. Everyone's schedules tend to fill up in December, as several ministries put on Christmas events for church families, young children, and refugees throughout the city. Pray for our students and staff involved in these acts of service in the midst of finishing up their semester exams and papers. Also please pray that we will keep perservering through the stresses we face in the midst of our job responsibilities at the College. Pray that we would be filled to overflowing with the joy and peace we have in Christ no matter how weak and tired we feel through various challenges we face. It has been a very difficult year for us, both personally and as a College, but that has also brought many opportunities for us to increase our trust in the Lord and the plans He has for us for His glory.

A few things recently added to our "thankful for" list:
  • Two regular library volunteers learning to help share the load of responsibilities
  • A professional quality informative video was produced to help explain the financial need our College has in this season
  • Students spending their time studying about evangelism methods and practicing it in the streets for one of their classes
  • A chance to meet new people in the community, primarily non-believers, through joining a writers club and a gym. Praying not to "hide the light of Christ under a bushel, but let it shine!"
  • Challenging and encouraging discussions about the nitty gritty of life and faith with our Bible study friends
  • Meggan is 80% of the way finished with her NaNoWriMo fiction writing goal (see Newsletter caption). Pray for perserverance to finish well. (www.nanowrimo.org)
