Hello from Iowa!
November 2014

Hello from Iowa

Two weeks ago, Theodore completed his first trans-continental flight. We're thankful he was such a good traveler! We have already introduced our little guy to most of our family and many friends, and he can't wait to meet even more of you soon. Since we will be working on obtaining Pavlos' citizeniship this visit, we will have more time than usual to connect with you all, our Stateside friends, supporters, and prayer warriors. We're excited to make good use of this opportunity to report to you in person about how God has been using us in Athens and to share more with you about both new and old ministries we'll be serving with when we return.

GrBC Retreat

Singing hymns together during the retreat

On the second weekend of October, we had the privilege of attending the school year kick off retreat along with the entire GrBC student body and most of the faculty and staff. We say &quoquot;privilege" not only because it’s a great time for connecting personally with the students, but also because twice a day we gather together as a large group to listen to the testimonies of all the new students. It’s always so neat to hear how God has been working in each individual’s life to bring them to where they are now – at the Greek Bible College with us! They are committing at least one year of their life to become further equipped in their study of God’s Word while also discovering more about how God is shaping them for ministry as they serve along with their peers in such a wide variety of outreach opportunities in Athens. In fact, this month the leaders of several ministries will gather all together at the college to share about their ministries and how our students can join them in service with their unique gifts and talents. May God continue blessing and encouraging each individual as they continue learning and growing both in and out of the classroom, and may their first priority constantly be knowing God more so they can make Him known!

Bob & B Nesbitt's first visit at GrBC

The week before traveling to the USA, we had the joy of hosting our pastoral care couple from our mission (Commission to Every Nation). This was their first time here, so they had the opportunity to visit the Greek Bible College, sit in a chapel service with the students, and meet with some of the faculty. We also walked them around one of the main squares in the Kypseli so they could get a feel of the people and the area where we church plant. Their visit reminded us of how thankful we are for this mission team God has allowed us to be a part of.
